4P Restore
Caring for the people who care for others.
Demanding public-service work asks a great deal of people. 4P Restore creates space to reflect, recover and reconnect — supporting the whole person behind the professional role. Through individual, team and leadership support, Restore helps organisations care well for the people carrying complex, emotionally demanding and high-responsibility work.
Why systems and people belong together
The people carrying the work matter too.
Public services rightly focus on the people and communities they exist to serve. But behind every strategy, safeguarding decision, difficult conversation, review, investigation and partnership response are people carrying that responsibility.
Some roles bring repeated exposure to trauma, distress, conflict and human suffering. Leadership can bring another kind of weight: responsibility for decisions, outcomes, staff, resources and situations where there may be no easy answer.
People should not have to become depleted in order to demonstrate their commitment to the work.
4P Restore recognises wellbeing as both a human issue and an organisational responsibility. It creates space for reflection, recovery, connection and sustainable ways of working — without reducing wellbeing to individual resilience or asking people simply to become better at coping with unhealthy conditions.
Our wider 4P work strengthens systems, strategy, practice and delivery. 4P Restore focuses deliberately on the people carrying that work. Strong systems and supported people belong together.
People before productivity
People have value beyond their output. Wellbeing matters because people matter, not simply because healthier people are more productive.
The weight of the work
Complex public-service roles can carry emotional, cognitive and professional demands that accumulate over time.
Shared responsibility
Individuals can develop healthier ways of working, but organisations and leaders also have responsibility for culture, workload, support and working conditions.
Sustainable practice
Good public services should enable people to contribute with purpose without requiring exhaustion, self-neglect or unsustainable sacrifice.
Organisational support
Supporting the people behind the service.
Strong organisations do more than ask people to manage their own wellbeing. They create cultures, leadership practices and working environments in which people can speak honestly about pressure, reflect on difficult work, access appropriate support and recover when the work takes something from them.
4P Restore provides practical, trauma-aware support for organisations that want to care well for the people carrying demanding public-service work.
The approach recognises both personal agency and organisational responsibility. It is not about making people more resilient so that unsustainable ways of working can remain unchanged.
Workforce wellbeing
Strategic and practical support to help organisations move beyond isolated wellbeing activities towards cultures in which people, pressure, recovery and sustainable working are taken seriously.
Reflective practice
Facilitated reflective space where practitioners and teams can step outside immediate operational demands, think about the impact of their work, learn from experience and reconnect with professional purpose.
Sustainable leadership
Support for leaders carrying significant responsibility, helping them understand what they are carrying, strengthen boundaries and develop ways of leading that are effective without becoming personally unsustainable.
Trauma-aware team development
Team development that recognises how repeated exposure to trauma, distress, conflict and complex human experiences can affect people, relationships, communication and practice.
Secondary and vicarious trauma awareness
Specialist input to help people understand the cumulative effects of exposure to other people's trauma and recognise signs of vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and emotional depletion.
Wellbeing planning
Facilitated individual or team planning that moves wellbeing from a general intention towards realistic actions, boundaries, support and ways of working that can be sustained.
Professional boundaries
4P Restore provides professional wellbeing, reflective-practice and workforce-development support. It is not therapy, clinical supervision, occupational health provision or a substitute for specialist mental-health or clinical support where this is required.
Restore for Leaders
Leadership is a privilege. It is also a weight.
Leaders are people before they are roles.
Leadership can involve holding uncertainty, making difficult decisions, absorbing organisational pressure and remaining available to others while carrying challenges of your own.
Sustainable leadership is not about becoming unaffected by those pressures. It is about learning how to carry responsibility without allowing responsibility to consume the person carrying it.
4P Restore creates protected space for leaders to reflect, recognise what they are carrying, reconnect with purpose, establish healthier boundaries and consider what sustainable leadership looks like for them.
Responsibility and emotional load
Explore the weight that can accompany responsibility for people, decisions and outcomes, and develop healthier ways of recognising and carrying that load.
Decision fatigue
Understand the cumulative impact of repeated judgement, uncertainty and high-stakes decision-making and identify ways to protect space for thoughtful leadership.
Boundaries
Consider where responsibility begins and ends, recognise patterns of overextension and develop boundaries that support both effective leadership and personal wellbeing.
Sustainable leadership
Develop a way of leading that remains purposeful, values-led and effective without depending on constant personal sacrifice.
Recovery and reflection
Create genuine space to step outside immediate demands, process experience, reconnect with what matters and restore capacity for what comes next.
Restore at Home
You are more than the work you carry.
Demanding work does not always stay at work.
Roles built around helping, protecting, responding, leading or caring for others can become deeply connected to identity and purpose. Over time, rest can begin to feel selfish, boundaries can feel like failure and personal needs can repeatedly move to the bottom of the list.
Caring deeply about your work does not require losing yourself to it.
4P Restore provides practical reflections, resources and personal wellbeing support to help practitioners and leaders notice what they need, reconnect with what sustains them and make space for a life that is bigger than their professional responsibilities.

About the approach
Grounded in professional experience. Delivered with care.
We see the person, not only the professional.
4P Restore begins from a simple belief: people should not have to leave their humanity at the door in order to do difficult work well.
Practitioners and leaders bring their experience, values, relationships, vulnerabilities, hopes and pressures into their working lives. Good professional support recognises the whole person while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
Wendy Sims, founder of 4P Collective, qualified social worker with extensive experience across community safety, safeguarding, victim services, leadership and public-service practice. Her approach combines professional rigour with genuine understanding of the realities of demanding work.
Michael Sims co-facilitates appropriate team wellbeing sessions, bringing experience in pastoral care, training and group facilitation.
Together, the emphasis is on creating respectful, thoughtful environments where people can reflect honestly, reconnect with purpose and consider what they need to remain well while carrying significant professional responsibility.
Trauma-aware
Work is informed by principles of safety, trust, choice, collaboration and empowerment while remaining clearly within the scope of professional wellbeing and reflective practice.
Professionally grounded
The approach is informed by extensive experience across social work, safeguarding, victim services, community safety, leadership and complex public-service environments.
Genuinely restorative
Restore is designed to create meaningful space for reflection, recovery and reconnection rather than becoming another wellbeing activity that people are expected to complete.
Whole-person focused
Professional roles matter, but they are not the whole person. Restore recognises identity, purpose, relationships, limits, wellbeing and life beyond work.

Optional sensory wellbeing and self-care experiences.
For some people, sensory experiences such as skincare, scent, touch and intentional time to pause can form part of personal self-care and restoration.
Wendy Sims is also an independent TEMPLESPA Lifestyle Consultant. TEMPLESPA products and experiences may be included as an optional element within some separately agreed personal wellbeing experiences, but they are not the foundation of the 4P Restore approach.
TEMPLESPA purchases are separate from 4P Collective's professional and organisational services and can be made independently through Wendy's personal TEMPLESPA shop.
